Valentine Popcorn

Well, I made my preschool crayon Valentines and my daughter's paper flower Valentines weeks ago.  While thinking about Valentine snacks for my preschool kiddos my son decided that he wanted to take pink Kettle Popcorn to school for Valentine's Day.  Great!  Valentine's day treats in 15 minutes!  Woo hoo!  Download PDF below.

I used my Whirley Pop to make the kettle corn and added these cute tags.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels

  • 2 T. cooking oil (I use canola)

  • 3 T. sugar

  • 1 t. salt

  • 7-8 drops of food coloring - any color!  Get creative!

In small bowl measure out sugar, salt and add drops of food coloring.  Don't worry about mixing it, that will happen during cooking.  Add oil to Whirley Pop and let pre-heat for about 20-30 seconds.  Add popcorn kernels to Whirley Pop and turn handle constantly.  30 seconds later add the sugar/salt/food coloring mixture until all is popped and mixed.  Break apart popcorn while it cools.  Add to bags and attach tags.
