Letter V Volcano

Learning about letters is so much fun!  This week we are working on letter Vv.  For our letter shape study we made letter V into a volcano that is spewing lava!

Simply give each child two 1 inch strips of red paper.  Cut brown triangles from construction paper.  Ask the kids to form a letter V using the red strips of paper.  Then glue the brown triangles on each side.  Allow the children to add red paint lava in the middle of the volcano.  Our kids had a great time making these!

To add some fun read a book about Volcanos and make or buy one from the store.  Then use baking soda and vinegar to "erupt" your own volcano!  The kids would never forget it! {Baking soda and vinegar make great volcanos!}
